Show your finished book trailer video to your family and friends, and ask them what they think and ask them to not be kind! You’re putting this video out into the public domain, and you don’t want false praise. If the video needs improving, you want to know, because people may comment on your video and you don’t want them saying it looks amateurish.
Ask your family and friends what they think about the overall look – do the images tell a story? Does the wording give enough information about the plot? Does the music fit the tone? And most importantly, if they knew nothing about your book, would the book trailer video interest them enough to persuade them to buy it?
If you want another opinion, send your book trailer video to me, and I’ll give you unbiased feedback.
Take note of the feedback you get – don’t ignore it, because your reviewers represent your potential audience. Consider carefully the comments they make and change your video where appropriate.
