Once you’ve created your video, you’re going to want to put it online. The first obvious place to put it is on your website. If you haven’t got an author website, get one. All authors, whether big name or indie, are expected to have a website. There are plenty of free sites, such as Weebly and Wix, which have WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) interfaces, so you don’t need any techy knowledge. Or you can use Wordpress and create your own website and blog. Wordpress will take a little more work and knowledge.
Place your video in a prominent position on your website but make sure it is relevant to the page, i.e. the page talking about the book. Google loves videos and having your book trailer on your website may help search engine rankings.
If you have a blog, either as part of your website or as a separate entity, make sure you write a post about your blog and include the video.
Create an account on YouTube and upload your video there. Share it on Twitter and Facebook.
Sign up as an author on Goodreads and upload your book trailer video to your author profile.
If you’ve self-published on Amazon, then sign up for Author Central and upload your video to your author profile.
I hope this series of blogs has helped you to create your own book trailer video. I really enjoyed creating mine. I hope you do too.
