Private individuals and corporations alike are realising the usefulness of vision boards as a visual tool for encouraging wellness and improving a quality of life. But what is a vision board?
A vision board is a physical tool that helps a person identify, clarify and focus their life goals (or at least their most immediate goals). This is done by using pictures, such as those cut out of magazines or snaps taken on holiday, that represent a person’s desires. Such desires can be something material, such as wanting to have enough money to buy a car, go on holiday, get a new kitchen or a new job, or the goals can be emotional or mental, such as wanting to be less anxious, more confident or just be happy with the way their life is.
Vision boards work because rather than a person thinking ‘I want to feel better’ or ‘I wish I could own that car’, a vision board keeps a picture of that goal ever present and reminds a person how they achieving that goal makes them feel. Being able to visualise how their goal looks clarifies, focuses and therefore makes the desired object/state of being more achievable.
If you are looking for a little clarity and direction in your life, then a vision board may be just what you need. Why not attend a vision board workshop run by Green Sea Coaching life coach Ruth Rood?
